For instance, according to Environment Canada,sulphur dioxide emissions that cause acid rain have been reduced by 57% in Canada and 67% in theUnited States since 1990. By working together, Canada and the US are protecting the environmenton both sides of the border.Major world problems such as air pollution and acid rain are best solved through globalcooperation. Peaceful coexistence is also promoted through countries working together. 35 But ifcountries can collaborate on the solutions, the problems are sure to be overcome.
