問題詳情
(五) Time is so important to us. Early people did not have clocks or watches. They used sticks to make a shadow, which moved with the sun, to know the time of a day. Later they used other devices, like sundials to tell the time ofday when there is sunlight by the position of the Sun in the sky, and hourglass, a device used to measure the passingof an hour. It has two round glass sections linked by a narrow channel, and contains sand which takes an hour to flowfrom the top section into the lower one. Around 600 years ago, people began making large mechanical clockswith bells. They are large and heavy. After that came the modern alarm clocks. Nowadays, people even wake up withcheerful music instead of a noisy alarm.
