Sue and Jane are classmates in junior high school. It is 8:00
p.m. Sue is talking to her friend Jane on the smartphone in her
bedroom.
Sue: What are you doing, Jane?
Jane: I’m reading a story.
Sue: What’s it about?
Jane: About Romeo and Juliet’s love story. In the book, they are
talking on the balcony. How about you?
Sue: My English is not good. I’m studying English.
Jane: You study so hard. My Chinese is bad. I’ll study it later.
Sue’s grandma: Sue, I’m looking for my glasses. Do you see
them?
Sue: Just a moment. My grandma is calling me. Sorry, I’m
hanging up. I’ll call you later.
Jane: It’s OK.

Sue’s grandma, in the living room, is talking to Sue.
Sue’s grandma: I don’t see my glasses.
Sue: Aren’t they on the table in the kitchen?
Sue’s grandma: No, they are not there.
Sue: Check the living room. Maybe they are on the TV.
Sue’s grandma: No, they’re not here.
Sue: Oh, you leave your glasses on my desk.
Sue’s grandma: Sue, get them for me, please.
