Another taxonomy of learning strategies that is very popular and has been used in many studies is Oxford’s (1990) language learning strategy classification. She divided learning strategies into six categories: memory strategies, cognitive strategies, compensation strategies, metacognitive strategies, affective strategies, and social strategies.
