It is now said that there is more than oneplastic island. About 80% of the garbage comes from lands and 20% is from ships. The oceancurrents will bring garbage together from the coast of America and the coast of Asia.       The plastic garbage is dangerous to the ocean life because there can be plastic bags,toothbrushes, bottle caps and boats among it. The waves of the ocean broke much garbage intolittle pieces, and then fish and birds in the area will eat the plastic for food. This may stopproper food from digesting and lead to a very slow and painful death. The poisonous food alsopollutes the water and makes the ocean dirty. The little sea living things may eat the food.Then,the large fishes will eat these little things and humans will eat them finally.       Scientist and some volunteers who try to protect the ocean start a plan. They will study andclean up the garbage patch. However, it is difficult for people to move the plastic floating inthe ocean away because it is not just on the surface, but is also down to more than 100 feetbelow the ocean surface. And the plastic garbage islands are also quite far away the lands.Plastic are very convenient but we hurt ourselves and the whole world in the end.
