(四) Peter was the CEO of a big computer company. He was a good boss and bought all his
employees company cars. However, he did get angry easily and many of his employees were afraid of him. One day he was invited to speak at an important meeting. Peter was too busy to write the speech himself, so he asked one of his employees to write him a short, interesting 20-minute speech.
      Peter said to the employee. “If you write me a good speech, I’ll give you a raise.” He
continued, “But I'll fire you if you write me a bad one.”
      The employee was afraid of getting fired, so he did his best to write a good speech for the
CEO. He gave the speech to the CEO before lunch.
      After the important meeting, Peter returned to the office, and he was very angry. He asked his secretary to look for the employee right away .“Why did you write me an hour-long speech?” he asked. “Half of the people left before the end of the speech. It was so shameful!”
      The employee was confused. “But, sir, I wrote you a 20-minute speech,” he answered. “ I also gave you the two extra copies you asked for.”
