問題詳情
(45-47)
Have you ever dreamed of traveling abroad for a whole year? Now this is not a dream if you have a working holiday visa. You can stay in New Zealand, Australia, Japan, or Canada up to twelve months and make money for your travel at the same time.
A working holiday visa encourages young people to experience living in a foreign country and work legally during their stay. Jobs like fruit picking or waiting tables are easy to find. However, there is an age limit. In Australia, New Zealand and Japan, working holiday visas are given to people between 18 and 30 years old; in Canada, the age limit is 18 to 35.
This one year stay abroad without being a full-time student is known as a “gap year.” It means to take one year out of studying to do something meaningful. You may travel to different places, play dozens of sports, pick up a new language or even do volunteer work. But the most important thing is to take a break and get ready for your next step. If you plan well before you go, a “gap year” can be filled with valuable experiences.
