問題詳情

Do you know how people celebrate the New Year in different countries? In Korea, womenand girls in the past weren’t allowed to travel outside the walls around their homes. In orderto see what was happening on the other side, they used special boards in their yards. Theylooked like seesaws, and one person would stand on each end. Each one took turns jumping andsending the other person into the air, so they could see over the walls. Today, it is done forfun during the Korean New Year.  In Denmark, it’s a tradition for people to throw their old broken cups, bowls, and plates onthe doorsteps of their friends, family members, and neighbors. The bigger the pile, the morethe people are liked and the more good luck they will have in the next year. In Brazil, white clothes are worn to scare away dark, evil spirits; the same is done withbear costumes in Romania. Both are said to bring the wearers good luck, good health, and goodfortune.
