Two men were hunting for birds in the forest.Just then, a mother bear came out. The bear was very bigand horrible, so both the men were very afraid. One ofthem climbed up a tree quickly. The other man wanted torun away, but it was too late. The bear was right in frontof him. He got down on the ground and didn’t move. Thebear came to him, smelled him for a while, and walkedaway. She believed the man was dead. She didn’t wantto eat the man because dead bodies tasted terrible.
       The man in the tree watched this, but he didn’t doanything. After the bear left, the man in the tree climbeddown and asked,“ I saw the bear say something to you.What did she tell you?” The other man was very angry andanswered,“ She told me true friends will not walk awaywhen I am in danger.”
