One of the reasons why Twain has a good understanding of human nature comes from the death of hisfamily members. In 1847, when Twain was 12, his father passed away. In 1870, Twain tied the knot with Olivia Langdon. They had four children. However, three of the fourchildren died of illnesses. The death of his beloved wife in 1904 also made him heartbreaking. Twain missedhis wife and children. Although he was terribly lonely, he kept looking on the bright side of life. “Shall I everbe cheerful again, happy again? Yes. And soon.”, he wrote in his diary on December 27, 1909.
Moreover, Twain’s sayings have been well-known.
