(二)        Tornadoes are storms with strong winds. They can happen at any time during the year, but they form mostin the spring and summer. Tornadoes come in many sizes, from EF0 to EF5. A tornado can last from a fewseconds to over an hour. So far there have been more than 500 possible reports of tornadoes in the U.S. in 2017.       Tornadoes can be dangerous to people and animals because of their strong winds. For example, a man inKansas   7.   when a tornado hit. The strong wind blew his bed out of his small house. Before he knew it,he was already in a place about 600 feet away   8.  his home. Another tornado in Iowa picked up adoghouse with a big dog inside it and set it down several blocks away. To everyone’s surprise, the dog was fine.These two examples are lucky ones. However, every time a big tornado comes, several people get hurt or evendie.        When there are tornadoes, take a shelter, but don’t get close to windows, doors and outside walls. If youare at home or in a small building, you can hide in a closet or bathtub. If you are in your car, get out of it rightaway and find a safer place to hide. Be more careful, and you can save your own life.
