      When passing through the seaside of Ilan, you will see Turtle Island quietly sitting in the sea. It gets the name “turtle” because it looks just like a turtle coming out of the water. There are many interesting old stories about Turtle Island. One of them tells that 350 years ago when Zheng Cheng-Gong came to Taiwan on a boat, he shot a turtle. The badly hurt turtle later died and became the Turtle Island. People believe that the sulfur holes on the island were where the turtle got shot.
　　Turtle Island is famous for its beautiful nature. Because there is no people living on the island, many animals and birds happily call it home. Lots of plants also freely grow on the island, making it a special forest. As a young volcano, Turtle Island is full of seabed hot springs and special volcano landscape. The milk-colored hot spring water runs into the sea and makes the two-colored “Ying-Yang Sea.” Also, the sea around Turtle Island is also a good place to watch dolphins by boat.
　　Turtle Island is now open to the public. However, only 250 people can take a walk on the island each day. Can’t wait to enjoy the great nature of Turtle Island? Go get your entry permit as soon as possible!
