So fundamental is fire that most ancient societies have a myth relating to its“discovery.” Since fire was first harnessed, wood has been the primary fuel for it. Although most ofthe developed world now gets the majority of its energy for cooking and heating from fossil fuels __(72)__ coal and petroleum, wood fuels are still a major source of energy for people in developingcountries.
