感覺台灣菸酒給的答案(B)不太符合文法，個人覺得(D) when asked 應為較佳解。
無論 A、B 或 C 選項代入格17都會讓逗號(occurred後的) 前後變成兩個完整句子，而兩個句子用逗號放一起，中間應要有連接詞連接 (例如 and) 才是正確文法。
D選項則可以還原到最初的型態：
..., when he was asked ..., he replied.... → 表時間因果關係，且前後主詞同、時態同
→..., when he was asked ..., he replied....
也就是： 當他被問到...，他回答...。
