問題詳情

(7.~11.)    Harvard University is a world famous school. It has lots of stories, realor false. The most interesting one is "the Statue of Three Lies." The statue isat the heart of Harvard University's campus. The information on the base ofthe statue is misleading.    First, Harvard University was founded in 1636, not 1638. Second, JohnHarvard was not the founder of Harvard University. People named theuniversity after Reverend John Harvard because he left his personal library and half his land to the schoolafter he died in 1638. Third, the statue was not John Harvard himself. The model of the statue was astudent in Harvard University in 1884. However, the sculptor did give the statue skinny legs, just like JohnHarvard's.   People say that students can do well on their studies after rubbing the left shoe of it. If you have achance to visit Harvard University, don't forget to rub the left shoe of the "fake" Harvard.
