問題詳情

Many years ago, there used to be a type of stage performer called a "memory man." Memory men were able to remember huge amounts of knowledge. Their trick was to correctly answer almost any question asked by the audience. We rarely see them nowadays. But a real-life "memory man" lives in Los Angeles, and he doesn't even try to remember stuff.     Sixty-year-old Bob Petrella is a television producer. He has the remarkable ability to remember the events of his own life in amazing detail. In fact, he can recall almost everything he has done since the age of five. He remembers the telephone numbers of everyone he knows, and wasn't at all worried when he lost his cellphone with their numbers stored in it. Mr. Petrella first discovered his amazing talent at elementary school, when he could pass any test easily without studying.     Doctors have given a name to Mr. Petrella's condition. They call it "super autobiographical memory," and it has been found in just four people around the world. Amazingly, another one of those people also lives in Los Angeles. Her name is Jill Price, and she has written a book called The Woman Who Can't Forget. Both she and Mr. Petrella have taken part in memory tests to help with research into the condition.
