第 36~38 題 India’s Dangerous Garbage Mountain A large “garbage mountain” is the Ghazipur landfill in New Delhi, India. It’s already 65 meters high. Every year,the landfill grows by 10m. By 2020, it will be taller than the 73-meter-high Taj Mahal. People leave about two million kilograms of garbage there every day. Soon, India’s government will need to putred lights on it. This will make it easier for airplanes to see.
The garbage makes dangerous gas. It often catches fire, and it takes days to put out these fires. The air, land andwater around the landfill are full of pollution. This makes people sick.
