It’s a day to remind people all over the world tofight against HIV, to show support for people living with HIV, to commemorate for the death from AIDS, and to tell governmentsand the publicto raise money for people in need. World AIDS Day was the first global health dayfounded in 1988.  About36.7 million peoplehave the virus and more than 35 million peoplehave died of HIV or AIDS. Today, we havelaws and treatments toprotect people living with HIV, but most people still don't know the facts about how to protect themselves and othersfrom it.  Every year there is a theme for World AIDS Day. The 2017 theme is “Increasing Impact through Transparency" andthe 2016theme is“Hands up for HIVPrevention". All these themes are tryingto raise the awareness of people about the HIV prevention and the meaning for specific groups of people.  Somepeople weara T-shirt with an HIV awareness red ribbon andraise money for it, others host an event like a race or a speech.
