         Have you ever asked yourselves this question—What part of one’s life is the most important? The past, present, or future?
         The old never hesitate to tell younger people about the great things they have done in the past. The past is the most wonderful part of their lives. We often hear the young share their great dreams for the future. They are full of hope for what it may bring. It seems that only middle-aged people are thinking about the present as they go to their jobs and take care of their children.
        I think that the past, present, and future are all important in a person’s life. It is important for the old to have a past they can remember happily, for the young to have a future they can look to with hope, and a present for the middle-aged to enjoy.
         But the present is the most important. This is because it is the only one of the three that we can do anything about. We cannot change the past. We can plan for the future, but things do not always work out the way we hope. We can do something about the present. It is the only way to make a happy past and future.
