         What makes one person smarter than another? What makes a person a great genius,like Albert Einstein, and another a fool? Are people born to be brilliant or stupid, or is itthe result of where and how they live? These are very old questions, and answers tothem are still not clear.
         We know that just being born with a good mind is not enough. In some ways, a mindis like a leg or an arm. It needs exercise. Mental exercise is more important to childrenthan to grown-ups.The more mental exercise children take, the greater things they willdo when they grow up. Many child psychologists think parents should play with theirchildren more often and give them more questions to think about. They help them growbrighter and smarter. On the other hand, if children often stayed at home on their ownwithout anything to do, they would never become smarter.
         Parents should also be careful with what they say to young children. If parents arealways telling a child he or she is stupid, then the child may keep doing stupid things.
