Dear Sophie,
      How are you? Are you happy in New York? Thank you for your birthday gift and card. I like them
very much. I’m glad to tell you I’m fine here. New school is fun, and I have a lot of new friends. They are
good to me. I’m busy but happy. I practice basketball in school’s team (校隊) every Friday. I also play the
drums with the school band (樂團) on Wednesdays after school. On weekends, I play chess with my good
friend, Nina. She teaches me a lot, and she is really good at it. My life is colorful (多采多姿的) now. When
are you coming back? Mom, Dad and I can’t wait to see you.
