問題詳情
【C】
The American hot dog, as we know it today, came from Europe. Europeans have eaten sausagetogether with bread for hundreds of years. Some Germans call sausage “Dachshund,” a kind of smalldog with a long body.
The term “hot dog” was invented at New York Polo Grounds in April 1901. The weather wascold that day, and a vendor was doing no business when he tried to sell ice cream and soda. So, hecooked some sausages with bread and made a sign “Red Hot” to tell people he was selling warmfood.
A cartoonist saw the sign and it gave him an idea. He drew a picture of a Dachshund dog in abun and wrote “Get your hot dogs!” on the picture because he didn’t know how to spell the Germanword “Dachshund.” And then the popular term “hot dog” was born!
Today, hot dog has become a very popular food. Several kinds of hot dog can be boughtready-to-eat from many convenience stores.
