Stay away from Zika.
          According to Taiwan’s Centers for Disease Control, there have been eight confirmed Zika virus infection cases, all imported, as of September 15, 2016. The Zika virus was first found in monkeys caught in the Zika Forest. The Zika virus is transmitted mainly by Aedes mosquitoes which bite during day and night.
         The World Health Organization (WHO) says Zika is “the new public health emergency.” No vaccine has been found toprevent Zika. Adults if infected will have a fever, headache and pink eyes. These symptoms last for 2 to 7 days. What’s worse, pregnant women could give birth to babies with small heads.
         Here are some ways to prevent Zika. Men and women who want to start a family should stay away from the infected countries. Other ways are using mosquito repellent, wearing thick, long pants and shirts, and sleeping in an air-conditioned room with a mosquito net.
