問題詳情

【C】                                              Feb. 8th Dear Diary,    Today, when I wanted to have my usual porridge for breakfast, my sister Judy told me not to because it was Chinese New Year’s Day and I wouldn’t be rich if I did. She said only poor people ate porridge for breakfast. I didn’t listen to her because I didn’t believe in superstitions. After breakfast, when I started to tidy up my room, Judy was there again telling me not to do it because I would sweep good fortune away. I was speechless, but I just keep cleaning.    Believe it or not, when my younger brother, Matt, came to borrow my markers, I saw a small square piece of paper on his face. When I asked him about it, he said it would bring him luck. I didn’t know what to say. Then, he tried to tell me more about it, but I wasn’t buying it and quickly left.   In the afternoon, we visited our grandparents, and I got a big red envelope. On the way home, I couldn’t wait to count how much I got, so I took it out. That’s when something bad happened. My envelope got blown out the open car window and landed in a river. Why didn’t I listen when I had the chance?* usual 平常的 porridge 粥
