 (一)
When you hear “Black Friday,” what comes into your mind? You might think it is not a good day for anything because something bad will happen. Well, people in some countries do hate a Friday, but it is not “Black Friday.” It is “Friday the 13th,” a Friday on the 13th day of the month. On that day, some people don’t do business, take a plane, or even get out of bed.
Black Friday, however, is different. Most people enjoy it. It comes right after Thanksgiving, the fourth Thursday of November, in the USA. On Black Friday, people don’t stay at home. They go out shopping like crazy. It is the first day of the Christmas shopping season in the USA. Every store has a big sale.
If(如果) it is a happy shopping day, why do people call it “Black Friday?” Some say it is because the large number of crazy shoppers always brings terrible traffic(交通) and even traffic accidents(意外). Sometimes, there are brawls between shoppers. They fight over a product(產品). However, these problems never stop people from welcoming Black Friday every year.
