         The city zoo just got a new member today. A little female Asia elephant was born. The zoo workers have named her Sundara, which means beautiful in Sanskrit.
        This is a very big deal for the zoo. It is also an important event for the other elephants. They all went over to meet and greet Sundara when she came into the world. Like all baby elephants, she was able to walk in just minutes. Soon, she was playing with her sister, Nanda.
        Asia elephants are in danger of dying out. Today, there are fewer than 50,000 of them left in the wild. The zoo hopes that Sundara will bring more attention to her kind and encourage people to protect them.
