五、閱讀測驗  Summer is coming. Some students plan to have a trip abroad. Some choose to spend the whole
summer studying. Last year, I decided to do something different. I joined a study tour in New
Zealand.
We had English classes in the morning ,and the teachers there brought us to visit some interesting
places in the afternoon. I saw a sheep-shaving show for the first time. But the best part of the
trip was that I stayed with a local family. My host mother was a fire fighter. Her husband died
several years ago. She has three children, Emily, John and May. She is a great mother, and her
children usually do the housework with her. I don’t do housework in Taiwan because I am usually
busy studying. After school, I have to go to cram school. When I get home, it is often past 9
o’clock. But things are different here. Emily, John , and May don’t have classes after 3:00 p.m.
They help cook dinner and clean the house. I think it is good to do something for the family. Maybe
I should do the same thing.
