中樞聽覺處理指的是中樞聽覺系統運用聽覺訊息的效率及效能。根據美國聽語學會The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)定義由中樞聽覺系統所負責的聽覺行為包括了下列六大項目：(1)音源定位及辨位（sound localization and lateralization）(2)聽覺分辨（auditory discrimination）(3)聽覺辨識（auditory recognition）(4)聽覺時間訊息處理（temporal aspects of audition）—時間分辨temporal discrimination時間遮蔽 temporal masking時間統整temporal integration時間順序temporal ordering(5)在聽取多重聽覺訊息中的聽取力降低率（Auditory performance decrements with competing acoustic signals）(6)在聽取衰退性...
