問題詳情

四. 閱讀測驗:20% 【A】The Sloth:Nature’s Couch PotatoNature is a dangerous place. To survive, animals have to be fast, strong, or smart. But the sloth uses a different way to live — it is slow, weak and lazy. The sloth is the world’s slowest animal. It lives in the wet forests of South America, and it spends most of its time hanging from tree branches. It moves once in a while to eat a leaf or two. Because it moves so little, a type of green bacteria grows on its body. It may not sound wonderful, but this type of bacteria protects the sloth in dangerous forests. To most predators, a sloth looks more like a big green plant than a delicious meal. In fact, more sloths die from touching electrical lines than from being eaten.
