Many of us have the wrong idea about bats. We always think bats are dirty. They are bloodsuckers that carry diseases. However, none of these are true. Bats can see well, and they are gentle, intelligent, and very useful to humans. Out of the 1,000 or so bat species, only three feed on blood, and it’s mainly from cattle and deer. Most bats eat flowers, fruits and leaves. They also eat a lot of small bugs, which helps control the population of crop-damaging insects. One bat can even eat up to 6,000 insects in a single night. In addition, bats help to pollinate some plants like the banana tree. They do this by drinking from plants’ flowers. Without bats, bananas couldn’t grow and we would not be able to enjoy bananas.

What is the best title for this reading? (B) Blind bloodsuckers. (C) Yummy bananas. (D) Facts about bats.
