問題詳情
(40-42) Hi Miranda, I just read The Poorest President Speaks Out today, and I want to share the book with you. José Mujica, Uruguay’s(烏拉圭)40th president, said the real problem in the world is notabout the environment, but about the way people live. For example, people often buy productsthat are cheap. However, they are low in quality and break or stop working easily, and thenpeople just go out and buy new ones again. Also, Mr. Mujica said people are never happy because they always want more than whatthey need. For him, real happiness lies in family and friends who care more about who you arethan what you use or wear. Lastly, he said things were made to make life easier, not harder.Because of all the things people want, they are forced to work all day long instead of spendingtime with real people. After I read the book, I felt bad about myself because I usually asked for more than Ineeded and took real happiness for granted. I am not sure if everyone agrees with his ideas, butI’m going to pass them on to my family and friends like you. By doing so, I hope to make achange. In the long run, I hope more people will find the true meaning of happiness and startliving the right way. Your best friend, Claire
