問題詳情

[38~40]       Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is based on the Chinese lunar calendar, so the Western date changes from year to year. It usually starts on the day before the New Year and ends on the Lantern Festival, the 15th day of the New Year.        To have good luck in the following year, people in Taiwan avoid taboos on the first day of the Chinese New Year. For example, people do not eat porridge for breakfast because    it    is only for poor people and people don’t want to start the year “poor” because this is a bad omen. Besides, if you sweep on this day, you will sweep your wealth away. If someone owes you money, do not go to his or her home to ask for it. If you do, you will be unlucky all the year. Finally, remember not to wear old clothes with holes because that will bring bad luck for the coming year.
