         Many people don’t like spiders. People especially don’t feel comfortable near large ones. It’s hard not to notice them becausethick hair covers their bodies. But in Cambodia, they are treated very differently. Now let’s take a look at the story of Sokha and thespiders.
         Sokha is a young boy from Cambodia. He isn’t very tall. He’s small for his age because he doesn’t get enough meat to eat. Hisfamily raises geese, but people will only eat them on special days. So, what does Sokha do when he wants to have some meat? Hehunts for big spiders.
        To hunt for a spider, Sokha has to look for a spider’s hiding hole first. When he finds a spider in a hole, he digs hard to make itcome out. Sokha needs to be very careful because a spider bite hurts a lot. One time, a really large spider- it was almost 15centimeters long bit Sokha on the toe.
         Sometimes Sokha is lucky and can collect more than ten spiders for his family in a day. After he brings them home, people eatspiders with rice. For Sokha and his family, spiders aren’t something scary. They are delicious food.
