        There are many strange but fun races around the world each year, and the bed race in the North Yorkshire Town in the UK is on the top of the list.
         Each team has six runners and one passenger. The runners have to carry their own team’s bed with the cart to run up and down on the streets, hills, and grassy road for 2.4 miles in the town. In the end, the runners even have to swim across the cold water of the River Nidd. What the passenger should do during the race is try his or her best to keep from falling off the bed.
         What’s more, the bed race has one thing that makes it popular and different from other kinds of races. Before the race begins, people from each team dress themselves up in the topic of the year. The team that wins the “Best Dressed Team ”then leads the other teams and people in town to parade on the streets. Everyone can sing, dance, and play music together. The funny parade becomes a festival and brings everyone in the town together. The bed race started in 1966 for raising money for the poor. People in Yorkshire Town love the idea, so they held it and will never stop.
