問題詳情

Being a firefighter can be dangerous and exhausting. However, what do firefighters do if there’s no fire? In many towns and cities, firefighters do much more than simply fight fires. They are called upon to manage a variety of accidents, disasters, and rescues that may or may not include fire. Often people call upon firefighters to help them with other daily problems when they just don’t know who else to call. Then, there are times when there are no calls. Many towns and cities have firefighters “on call”, who help out only in emergencies, or when full-time firefighters are busy managing another disaster. For full-time professionals, time between calls is spent on tasks such as maintaining equipment, practicing safety procedures, or doing community training and education.
