A Smile Collector – Jaden Hayes
Jaden Hayes, a six-year-old boy who is doing something special to the world - giving out his toys on the street for free. There is only one thing he wants - a big smile.
Losing both of his parents at a very young age, Jaden was not defeated. “Anybody will die,” he said. For most of the kids, the way to face this problem may be crying all day long. But for Jaden, he wanted to do something different. When he sawpeople walking down the street, he noticed most of them looked sad. Then he came up with a plan. “I am sick of seeing sadpeople all the time,” he told his aunt, “and I want to fix it.”
He then asked his aunt to buy a lot of little toys like yellow ducks, dinosaurs, and bring them to the street. “I’m trying tomake people smile.” He turns people’s days around by giving them those lovely toys. It makes people surprised to see a six-year-old kid who lost his parents would be so kind and loving. All the people who got his toys gave him what he asked, andsome of them even cried because they were so touched. Many of them gave him big hugs to show their thanks. What peopledid to him make him learn one thing – joy can be shared.
So far he has had collected nearly five hundred smiles, and he wants more. “I hope to collect 33,000 smiles.” We canlearn one thing from the child – as long as we do our best to make the world a better place, no matter how small the chancesare, we could be successful.
