         Andrew, an American friend of May’s, visited her a few days before the Chinese New Year. He found all May’s family were busy cleaning up the house. May told him the Chinese New Year will be around the corner. All that they did was to prepare for Chinese New Year’s celebrations. Andrew kept asking May some more questions about the important holiday of the year. To him, the most interesting one is that the number “four” should not be said during the Chinese New Year because it sounds like the word for “death” in Chinese. Now Andrew is looking forward to having a big dinner at May’s house on Chinese New Year’s Eve. He’s sure it will be an experience that he’ll keep in mind for good. He’ll never forget it.
