          The Formosan Rock Monkeys have lived in Taiwan longer than any people. Female monkeys ask male monkeys out. Female monkeys tell males what to do. Formosan Rock Monkeys think it’s fun to be bad. That’s why parents call their children “monkey kids” when they are naughty.
          Rock Monkeys love climbing trees, finding food, and sleeping. They like cleaning their friends’ hair. Male monkeys fight to be the king. If they lose, they have to leave the family.
          The Rock Monkeys have red faces, dark hair, and long tails. Female monkeys take care of their babies until they are old enough. They shake the trees and make loud noises to make everyone stay away.
          People used to keep Formosan Rock Monkeys as pets. Now, many of them are released back to the mountains, their hometown. So, they become happier, healthier and stronger. The monkeys are clever, and they learn things fast. It is said that they are as smart as four-year-old children. There are many monkeys in Taroko National Park , and Shoushan National Nature Park . You can also see them at Taipei City Zoo . If you have free time, you can visit them with your family and friends. It would be very interesting!
