(C) Samuel Morse, who was born in April 27, 1791, is known for the inventions of the telegraph and Morse Code. When Samuel studied at school, he was good at painting. After studying science at Yale University, he went to study art in London. Although he could paint well and sold paintings, he could not make enough money to live on. One day, Morse joined a meeting on a boat where he learned that electricity could go through any length of wire. Then, he had an idea that he would make a machine that sent messages along a wire.It took him many years to make the invention. Finally, on May 24, 1844, he sent the first telegraph message. It traveled 35 miles, form Washington. D. C. to Baltimore, Maryland. The telegraph changed the world. With Morse’s invention, people could send and get messages right away.
