Estramustine（為estrogen之衍生物）會代謝為estromustine，可接上microtubule-associated protein，以穩定microtubules導致細胞無法分裂而達到毒殺癌細胞作用。Estromustine會再代謝為estrogen及estradiol，故可抑制雄性激素，治攝護腺癌。
