         Every June, David went on a picnic with his grandparents. This year, David asked his grandparents if he could take Joanna with him. Joanna had recently moved next to their house. David wanted to show Joanna his favorite picnic place.
        They went on a Sunday. It was a cool day, and there were lots of clouds in the sky. It looked as if it might rain, but David didn’t mind. He knew they’d have a good time.
        When his grandfather cooked the hamburgers, David and Joanna were playing ball. After lunch, they all walked in the woods to a stream. David and Joanna caught a crayfish. David tried to catch a frog, but it was too fast for him to catch and got away.
