問題詳情

四、 閱讀素養混合題  Dear Mom,
    Greetings from Japan! 1.
Last Saturday was Sports Day at Seigaku Elementary School. Unlike Field Day
in the US, Sports Day in Japan usually falls on weekends. This annual event features
both individual and group competitions. The former includes running races, while tug-
of-war and relay races are some examples of the latter. In this way, the participants can
not only compete but also cooperate with one another.
A few days before Sports Day, I practiced "tamaire" with my classmates. This
game involves two teams throwing beanbags, each into their respective basket on the
top of a tall pole. I also practiced for the entrance parade, which marked the beginning
of the event. There aren't so many interesting activities for students to work on in teams
on Field Day, don't you think?
Even though the event took place on the school field, nobody complained about
the sun. I participated in many competitions2 and had a lot of fun. At the end of Sports
Day came my favorite part: the folk dance! Girls and boys alike formed a large circle
and danced together. I was invited to dance but I declined, for I had sprained my ankle
Day came my favorite part: the folk dance! Girls and boys alike formed a large circle
and danced together. I was invited to dance but I declined, for I had sprained my
ankle earlier that day. Still, it was fun to watch everyone, including the teachers,
dance to the music. Afterward, the principal announced the winners and presented
the prizes, putting an end to this yearly sports festival. The whole experience really
broadened my mind. I enjoyed every second of it. Wish you were here, too!

                                                                                                                         Lots of love,
                                                                                                                                    Allan
