問題詳情

Star-crossed lovers, whose love for each other is against the rules of theirsociety, are common in both history and literature. Romeo and Juliet are anexcellent example. Their love was made tragic by their families’ feud for each other. But there have been many star-crossed lovers outside of Shakespeare’s stories.     About 2000 years ago, long before Shakespeare was born, Cleopatra andAntony were suffering from a tragic love. They were the leaders of the twopowerful countries, Egypt and the Roman Empire. Their love caused a war betweenthe two countries. Like Romeo and Juliet, the two lovers ended up killingthemselves.      Stories of star-crossed lovers are not a thing of the past only. More recently, you may have seen the same tragedy happen to Anakin Skywalker and PadmeAmidala, two lovers from the movie Star War. Padme was a politician and Anakinwas a Jedi Knight. Jedi Knights were not supposed to fall in love, especially with apolitical leader like Padme. The two were eventually torn apart.      It seems all of these stories have things in common—hatred andmisunderstanding. There will always be star-crossed lovers if people fail to treateveryone reasonably.
