Gina: Have you ever seen Beyond Beauty—Taiwan from Above?
Eva: Not yet. In fact, I’m not interested in the movie. It just shows the beautiful scenery ofTaiwan. I’ve been to almost every place in Taiwan, so few things in the movie would beinteresting to me. Did you see the movie?
Gina: Yes, I did. I watched it last weekend with my mother. It’s a fantastic movie, and it’sdifferent from what you think. Chi Po-lin, the director, leads us to see Taiwan from theair.
Eva: What does Taiwan look like from above?
Gina: It looks very beautiful---the mountains, the rivers, the cities, the lakes…But the moviealso shows part of the sadness of this island.
Eva: Really? The dark side?
Gina: Yes, but I won’t tell you too much. You can go see the movie and find it out yourself.The director said that it took him 400 hours to fly over Taiwan and almost three years tomake the movie. There must be an important message he wanted to tell people in Taiwan.And I got his message. After watching the movie, I began to think about what I could dofor Taiwan. And I really think it’s a movie everybody in the world should see.
