問題詳情
Isaac Newton was born in Lincolnshire, England in 1643, and grew up on a farm. When he was a boy, he made many great things like a water clock and a sundial. However, Newton didn’t get high grades at school. When he was 18, he went to study at Cambridge University. He liked science and math a lot. But in 1665 a serious flu broke out in England, and Cambridge University had to close down. Newton then went back to the farm. One day, he was drinking a cup of tea in the garden. Then he saw an apple fall from a tree and thought “Why do apples fall down but not up?” From then on, he tried to know more about the idea of gravity. People can’t see gravity, but it can pull everything to the Earth and keeps the planets moving around the Sun.
The idea of light also caught Newton’s eye. He found that white light has all the colors of the rainbow. Newton also found other important rules of science. He called them his “Three Laws of Motion.” These rules talk about how things move. Thanks to his hard work, Newton became rich and famous. However, he got angry easily and often fought with other scientists. “You stole my work!” he usually said.
Isaac Newton died in 1727 at the age of 85. He rests along with English Kings and queens in Westminster Abbey in London. He is excellent at math and is one of the great scientists in history. *Sundial日晷 university大學 flu流感 break out 爆發 planet星球
