問題詳情

Gestures are the silent way of “talking.” The use of gestures is very common. In our daily lives, we usually use gestures to talk with others. Gestures sometimes “speak louder” than spoken words. For example, if you see the man waving his hand to you, you know that means “Good-bye.”        However, the same gesture sometimes has different meanings in different countries. The Americans and the Europeans shake hands to greet each other. In India and Iran, if the man asks to shake hands with a woman, it becomes the wrong gesture for greeting. In the U.S., when people raise their thumbs, it means “Good Luck!” “Everything is fine!” or “You are the best!” However, in Spain and Iran, the same gesture is not polite.        Because of these differences, it becomes important to use the right gestures when we greet people from different cultures. When we visit a different country, make sure that you have to learn the right gestures in that culture. *silent 沉默的 gesture 手勢 greet問候 thumb 大拇指
