Chimpanzees’ faces are pink to black, and their bodies are covered with long black hair. Chimps don’t have a tail. Their thumbs and toes help them catch things easily. In fact, there are chimps in 21 African countries.
Chimps eat many kinds of foods, for example, fruits, nuts, seeds, and insects. They sometimes hunt and eat meat. Female chimps in the wild usually give birth for the first time when they are between 12 and 15 years old. Young chimps stay with their mothers for up to 10 years.
