My mother says she and her family got their first television when she was young. Of course it was theearly TV and it was black and white. She says they had only one channel at that time and people at thattime could watch TV only from eight p.m. to eleven p.m. When I was young, there was a color TV in theliving room and we had only about 3 channels. They were channel 3, 6, and 9. My bothers, sisters and Iwould sometimes fight about which channel to watch, but we five enjoyed the same shows. People couldwatch TV from six a.m. to eleven thirty p.m. every day then.        Now we can watch TV 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and we get hundreds of channels on TV. I can'tbelieve it! There are channels with only old movies, channels with only cooking, channels with only thenews, and channels for young kids. There is a channel for everything. These days, lots of families evenhave 2 or 3 televisions in their house.
