Wildfires are always problems in Southern California. In late summer and fall, it is very dry and windy. When hot winds blow over the land, a little spark can easily start a fire. The fires spread fast through grasses and bushes. In the past, people couldn’t do anything to prevent and stop them. However, things have changed now. People find an efficient way to prevent wildfires. They use cheap workers to do the job. They are goats.
        People use goats to eat the grasses and bushes as a way of fire control. After the goats sweep away all the plants on the ground, the fires cannot spread. What goats can do really surprise people. “They do a good job. They just eat everything on the ground. They don't get tired and sick. They don't care about how hot it is, how cold it is. They're out there doing their job.” People in California start to use goats to prevent wildfires. Some even start a business on goat renting. Many people rent the goats until the rains come and the danger of fire is over.
