(G)      The idea of helping children came to Craig Kielburger after he learned Iqbal Masih. Iqbalwas a poor boy. He began to work when he was four. He spoke out for children’s rights andlost his life when he was twelve. Iqbal’s short life surprised Craig. Together with his friends,Craig started the charity Free The Children in 1995. He was only twelve years old then. Craigfirst began his visit to children in need. He saw many children live a poor life. In some places,they were sick because they did not have clean water and food. Then Craig started to help.
            In 2004, Free The Children began a plan to work with communities. They did not givemoney or things to people, but they taught men, women and children about ways of living.They helped the parents get a job, and then the parents could have money for their children’sfood and schooling. They taught the children ways to keep clean, so the children would notget sick easily. It took years for the poor children to have a better life. When the communitiesworked well and did not need the help of the charity anymore, Craig knew he succeeded.
